Ski Programs

Saturday Ski Programs

Skijammers Ski and Snowboard School is proud to offer three tracks for ski members this season. Our Skijammers Chevron Program is designed for students ages 6 - 13. The Chevron Program is segmented into 3 Zones (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced). Each zone has specific curriculum outcomes, goals and guidelines for our 8-week program. All Chevron program participants will be slotted into groups based on age, ability and friend requests. Participants will ski with the same group of students and the same instructor for the duration of our 8-week program.

Our Advanced Programs are designed for skiers who have moved through our Chevron Programs, or come into the program with the skill sets and desire to work in a specialized team environment. These programs are helmed by instructors and coaches who are experienced and motivating.

The Skijammers "Flex" Program is designed for experienced participants and fills a niche for teens who are ready to explore the hill on their own with their friends (skiers and riders). "Flex program members will be able to participate in morning sessions with our Advanced Program groups. Each week they will check in with our "Flex" Program facilitator and identify which groups they would like to participate in. If they choose not to particiapte in an organized session... that's O.K. too.

Overview of a Typical Day

Each Saturday in January and February, our students are picked up at their bus location at 8:00 AM. The participants are chaperoned by both adult and apprentice chaperones and transported to a different ski and snowboard area each week.

Students form a group(age/ability level) and work with the SAME INSTRUCTOR and group of students for the eight week program. We strive to have a 6 to1 student/instructor ratio across the board. Typically our Red and Blue Chevron groups have smaller class sizes and our Silver and Gold groups have larger class sizes. Each day we provide two 2-hour lessons. 10:00 - Noon, and 1:00 - 3:00. because of the bonds that are formed between instructor and class over the eight weeks, lessons are fun, not rigid. Rather than "teach", we "CREACH"(creative teaching method)focusing on our Play, Drill and Adventure curriculum.

Each child is checked in at the bus stop in the morning, and checked in again at bus departure. Skijammers busses do not leave until all students are accounted for. Kids are returned to the bus drop off at 5:00 PM. We strive to deliver a 6 to 1 student/instructor ratio across the board, but typically younger groups have smaller class sizes and advanced groups have larger class sizes. All Skijammers and Boardjammers instructors complete a comprehensive indoor and on-hill training program designed to ensure consistent curriculum delivery. We literally wrote the book on child specific ski and snowboard instruction and are excited to share it with your family.
